Centre
for eTourism Research (CeTR) |
The
Centre for eTourism Research (CeTR) was created in October
2001 at the University of Surrey, UK. CeTR accommodates a
great variety of research topics and activity within the broad
term of eTourism. It identifies technological platforms and
explores business models for maximising the competitiveness
of the tourism industry, both at the micro-enterprise and
the macro-policy making levels. CeTR aims at visioning the
future of eTourism and at providing a platform for discussion,
debate and reflection between academics, researchers, industry
and public sector officials. |

for Tourism and Leisure Studies - Vienna University of Economics
and Business Administration |
The
Institute for Tourism and Leisure Studies is part of the Vienna
University of Economics and Business Administration (WU Wien).
The Institute for Tourism and Leisure Studies was established
in 1934 to provide research and education services in the
field of tourism. It appears that the Institute is the oldest
tourism research unit on University level in Europe. It has
an internationally recognised history of accomplishments that
spans over half a century. |

Laboratory for Tourism and eCommerce - University of Illinois

The
National Laboratory for Tourism and eCommerce at the University
of Illinois is multi-disciplinary, multi-departmental and
multi-university. Formerly known as the Tourism Research Lab,
NLTeC at the University of Illinois has grown over the past
years to reflect the focus and strengths of the University
of Illinois- its high quality faculty, staff and graduate
students. Importantly, NLTeC at the University of Illinois
is housed within the Department of Leisure Studies and the
College of Applied Life Sciences. This home establishes the
philosophical basis oriented towards improving the quality
of life of people throughout the world. To this end, NLTeC
provides a unique and powerful setting for scholars and practitioners
to consider the nature and role of information technology
in the tourism industry. |

The
World Tourism Education & Research Centre (University of
Calgary) |
The
World Tourism Education & Research Centre was created
in 1989 when the University of Calgary was designated as part
of the World Tourism Organization's International Education
and Training Network. The World Tourism Education & Research
Centre (WTERC) is a world class learning environment dedicated
to the interdisciplinary study of tourism. During the past
decade, WTERC has achieved international recognition as one
of the most dynamic centres in the field of tourism education
and research. |

Tourism
Center (University of Minnesota) |
The
Tourism Center, located on the Saint Paul Campus of the University
of Minnesota, conducts tourism research and provides education
and outreach programs for the tourism industry, community
groups and students.The Tourism Center is part of the University
of Minnesota Extension Service. It operates in partnership
with various academic units, government agencies and industry
associations. The Tourism Center is funded by the University
of Minnesota Extension Service, research, contracts, grants
and the Carlson Endowment. |

Tourism
Research Group |
The
Tourism Research Group was established by Gareth Shaw and
Allan Williams in 1986 as a special unit within the Department
of Geography at the University of Exeter. Since then it has
completed over sixty research and consultancy projects for
a wide range of clients, including the European Commission,
Local Authorities and tourism entrepreneurs throughout the
UK. The TRG has access to international university networks
(via the internet), extensive library and cartographic services,
plus a wide range of academic expertise and contacts within
the industry. |

Vienna
University of Economics and Business Administration |
The
Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration
(WU Wien) was established in 1898. Today it offers more than
twenty different areas of specialisation such as international
management, corporate finance, marketing, banking, small business,
retailing or tourism from which the graduate students choose
their particular field of study. The university also offers
four Master's Degree programmes (in Business Administration,
Commerce, Economics, and Business Education) and a Ph.D programme.
